Wedding Outfit

On 31st May 2007 my partner and I married and since my husband is Scottish he would of course wear a kilt, which meant I could happily be the one not in the skirt, uhm, sorry, kilt.

I decided to re-use the fantastic black and silver brocade long line jacket that I made for a Mess functoion in 2005 and had enough fabric left over to have a friend and historical costumier Couthie Couture make a beautiful Victorian corset for me.

With the final scraps I had another friend and accessoriser Queen Bea make a small bag to go with the outfit.

The trousers were bought and so was the black top. Incidentally, the necklace is the first piece of jewellery my husband gave me from Hebridean Jewellery and this has rapidly become my favourite jewellers, even though our platinum wedding ring are from Alchemia Studio in Edinburgh.

The fantastic flowers were from Astrantia and were meant to look like fire & lava, to contrast with the black & silver theme of my outfit.

Incidentally, my husband's kilt outfit was custom made by My Tartan.
