Victorian Gentleman

Since the Dickens Festival is by no means an authentic one, I decided to go for a Generic Victorian look for my partner's outfit. The top hat and tail coat are actually 19th century ones and were borrowed from our friends.

He is wearing an 18th century(ish) shirt which I picked up quite a few years back on the Re-enactor's Market, a pair of drop fronted and buttoned trousers that I made from fine wool with a Simplicity pattern and a waistcoat that I made from the same pattern. All fabrics had been in my stash, same as the buttons, and I was happy to use them. The spectacles are genuine 19th century ones that I had fitted with window glass and the gloves are early 20th century.
