Sefti the Rani of Dehlar

A Victorian costume & roleplay society had the idea for a weekend in a nice country house, where we would dress up all weekend long and amuse ourselves, playing 19th century folks.

I didn't have any Victorian costumes ready yet (I have always borrowed my friends' lovely 1830s costume for the Dickens festival in Rochester) and thus I wondered what I could do. I think it was them who came up with the idea why not to play the Colonial angle.

Thus I dug deep into my fabrics stash and so did my friends and we came up with tonnes of silks, embroideries and glittery bits.

I had great fun playing Sefti, the Rani of Dehlar over the weekend and above are my three costume efforts. It really was wonderful to swathe myself in those those sumptuous fabrics. Makes one feel like a Queen indeed.
