The text below is taken from the guide book to Vaux-le-Vicomte

Its objectives are defined in article 2 of the statutes:

To contribute to the maintenance and restoration of the chateau, the outbuildings and gardens of Vaux-le-Vicomte located in Seine-et-Marne (France) which have been listed as Historical Monuments.

To upkeep the art collections presently housed at Vaux-le-Vicomte or which may be housed there on a permanent basis; to receive or acquire any art objects, souvenirs, documents either connected with Vaux-le-Vicomte and those families that have contributed to its creation and maintenance, or any works of art to be kept at Vaux-le-Vicomte.

To encourage public visits, subject to any special circumstances and all requirements connected with the conservation and restoration of the site.

To undertake all actions for the encouragement of the Arts by all appropriate means, to promote visits by students and researchers interested in the subjects offered by Vaux-le-Vicomte.

To organise or help organise meetings, exhibits, publications or to undertake or further the undertaking of studies.
